A 19-year-old has been arrested along Kiambu road transporting 45kgs of bhang on a motorbike.
The teenager was arrested by traffic officers as he was headed to Githunguri.
Antony Kimani was stopped by traffic officers at Thindigwa as he was loaded with goods in his bodaboda that police suspected.However, Kimani did not stop and police were forced to follow him.
When he was arrested, 45kgs of bhang were recovered packed in a sack being transported to Githunguri.
Kiambu sub county deputy traffic base commander Stella Mwangangi said that the teenager was overspeeding during the time of arrest. She explained that despite overspeeding, he was also not having any protective gear needed to operate.
Kiambu OCPD Stephen Ng'etich said that 45kgs of bhang were recovered during the arrest and they were coming from Nairobi, Mathare area and being taken to Githunguri.
''The substance was being taken to one lady that we have identified as Mary Muthoni wangeci alias wa Mwas who is said to be the supplier of the drug in Kiambu,'' said Ng'etich.
He explained that police are already hunting for the woman who escaped on hearing about the search.
