A 16-year old boy has today March 22, 2016, committed suicide in Mbee sub-location, Kathiani sub-county.
According to Mbee sub-location subchief Peter Ndee, the boy had family problems with his mother which is suspected to be the reason behind him taking off his life.
"I received information that a certain boy had committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree and rushed to scene where he was already dead. I, therefore, notified Kathiani OCPD Mildred Achieng who sent police officers to the scene," said Ndee.
"I had been receiving complaints from the boy over mistreatment from his mother which is suspected to have driven him to kill himself," he added.
Ndee urged parents to find good ways of solving problems with their children, citing that it's very bad losing young people in the society.
The boys' mother was also arrested and is currently detained at Kathiani police station as more investigations are carried out to know what exactly transpired.
The boys' body was taken to Kathiani level four hospital mortuary for postmortem.
