The Prosecution Desk told the Court that in May 2 2015 in Ndumberi, Ann Njoki, the first accused and Maryanne Wanjiku the second accused attacked  Stella Wamaitha at around 9:15pm on her way back from her work place.

The Prosecution Desk also said that the two accused were standing at a closed shop by the time the complainant was alighting a Matatu from her work place.

Complainant Wamaitha told the Court that she spotted the accused persons when she alighted, but could not identify whether they were girls or not because of the darkness and their dressing style.

The Prosecution Desk also said that the two were in jeans trousers and hood jackets. While attesting to the Court, complainant said that the first accused walked first and went in front of her as the second one went behind her after about 20 metres of walking a behaviour which she said frightened her and forced her to try cross the road to avoid possible attack but it was too late as the second accused was already behind her and held her from behind threatening her to give out things she had.

Inside the second accused hood jacket was alleged to be hidden a metallic object which was on her arm which they used to cause bodily injury to the complainant.

The complainant said that the first accused on seeing that her fellow accused was in full control of her, took the hand bag which had her two mobile phones (Nokia C6, and a Samsung galaxy s4 mini), Sh2,050 and her other documents which were in the bag.

The accused went to Kiambu Police Station and reported the matter where investigations were launched.

In May 19 2015, the first and the second accused were arrested in their house in Ndumberi and the Samsung galaxy s4 note recovered and other valuables which are suspected to have been stolen from people.

They both pleaded not guilty and the Residence Magistrate Monica Kivuti adjourned the case for a hearing in June 9 2015.

However they were each ordered to pay a cash bail of Sh1 million or a surety of the same amount.
