Three high school students who were arrested in Nakuru aboard a stolen car, whose driver’s decomposing body was in the boot, have been set free by a Narok court.
The three were in the company of another two suspects who are still in police custody.
The three were released due to lack of evidence to link them to the theft of the taxi and the murder of its driver.
The prosecution said that there was no evidence to charge the three after a period of 10 days they had requested the court to conduct investigations elapsed.
Police, however, said the two still in custody are vital to the case and want five more days to conclude investigations.
The three were before Narok Chief Magistrate Wilbroda Juma. Juma granted the police the request to have the remaining two suspects in police custody until April 4, when they will be arraigned in court.
