According to Citizen, Strathmore failed to maintain a 14th clean sheet after being defeated for the first match since the start of the campaign.

Barbara simiyu scored a brace followed by a stike from Jackline Mwangi before half time.

Denise Bila and Barbra Atigu both shook the net for the Varsity outfits in the 44th and 52nd minutes respectively.

Following the win, Telkom who have scored 87 goals so far top in the women’s standing with 42 points, eight ahead of second placed United States International University from 14 matches.

On the other hand, Strathmore who have been on a fine form since May 1 trails at number four on 30 points; same with Chase Amiras who are third but with a game in hand.

Elsewhere, in another women showdown, sixth placed Sliders were forced to share a point with Vikings as they settled for a 2-2 draw.
