IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati has been advised to be honest with Kenyans and postpone the Thursday repeat presidential polls.

NASA co-principal and Amani National Coalition party leader Musalia Mudavadi said the country risks descending in anarchy should Chebukati proceed with overseeing the controversial polls which the opposition coalition has since withdrawn from.

"We are descending on a steep slope in a bus with faulty breaks and flattened tyres yet the driver is hesitant to admit so.Chebukati, the ball is in your court, be honest with Kenyans and tell them the country is not ready for October 26. If you fail and the country descends in anarchy then Kenyans will hold you solely responsible for the aftermath," he said.

Speaking in Kisii during a Nasa rally, Mudavadi added that they had communicated the same message to members of the diplomatic community.

While the IEBC has given the green light for the Thursday elections NASA on the other hand has called for the 'mother of all demonstations' on the very day.
