Ten persons are currently admitted at Nyangena Hospital after allegedly eating poisoned meal in a wedding reception held at Gesonso village on Thursday evening.
According to the eye witnesses the ten include three women, four men, and three children who after eating the meal at the reception of David Makario’s wedding started having severe stomach pain and they were rushed to the nearest hospital
Confirming the incident Nyangena Senior Medical Officer Johnston Mkoka said they ten who were rushed to the hospital have been attended to and are undergoing treatment.
“At around five on Thursday evening we received the patients and they have been attended to, we suspect the meal was poisoned though they are all safe,” he added.
Though the exact motive behind the poisoning has not yet been established some of the wedding attendees who did not want a mention attributed the incident to consistent domestic conflict within the family.
