Dan Sserunkuma scored twice as Bandari United recorded a comprehensive 3-0 win over visiting Thika United in a Kenya Premier League match played at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Sunday.
Thika United who had squandered an early opportunity to take the lead after quarter hour mark following Dennis Odhiambo’s saved penalty were finally made to pay for their mistakes on the 24t minute when Dan Sserunkuma slotted home from the spot.As the match was headed towards the 40-minutes mark, Darius Msagha slotted home the Dockers’ second goal from a close range.Just four minutes into the second half, Ugandan-import Sserunkuma doubled his tally to put the match beyond the reach of the visitors.Bandari should have won by a much-wider margin but Thika United goalkeeper stood between them and further goals.James Nandwa-coached Thika United’s torrid afternoon was summed up when striker Joel Tata was given marching orders for a dangerous play on Bandari player.The match provided perfect opportunity for Paul Nkata-coached Bandari to return to winning ways following a 2-0 loss to Ulinzi Stars in their last match.Following the deserved win, Bandari moved to second on the log with 10 points, two points behind Gor Mahia who defeated Sony Sugar 2-1 in a match played on Saturday.
