Tenants of a five-storey building in Ruaka, Kiambu county have been ordered to vacate the building after it started sinking.
The building is located at Mini Village on Ruaka-Banana road.
The National Construction Authority asked residents to leave the premises so as to give room for proper inspection of the building.
The tenants said they had noticed the cracks and realised the pillars on the ground floor were starting to bend but did not take it seriously.
"Today is when we saw it was very pronounced. People have been complaining about the cracks but thought nothing was major," one tenant said as quoted by the Star.
The scare comes less than a month after a 10-storey building in Kisii collapsed leaving six dead and 34 injured.
