Residents of tendere continued to pile pressure on the area Member of Parliament to reduce his persisting criticism on Governor James Ongawae and instead look for proper mechanisms of working with the governor to spur growth in the region.

Speaking at Tendere primary school on Monday during a prize giving ceremony, they accused Hon. Joel Onyancha for frustrating efforts of the governor to reach the constituency.

They said time had come for the two leaders to seat on the same table and iron out their differences instead of avoiding each other in public functions.

“I must say that as a constituency, we are very embarrassed that the governor is finding it difficult to reach this region due to his political enmity with the governor. Time has come for the duo to bury the hatchet for the sake of development,” said Rahim Mogisa.

“It is really ironical that the two have never met since 2013 and that is not good for us in rural areas. The MP is using some staunch supporters to hamper the county government from initiating projects in the region,” added Regina Masara.

However, speaking at a different function in Kenyenya market on Monday, Mr. Onyancha defended himself from the accusation and instead asked the Governor to tour the region and work for people.

“It is flabbergasting that someone is accusing me of frustrating development. The governor is always invited in this region to work for people and I have no authority whatsoever to prevent him from doing so,” he said.

End.
