Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu is reported to have fallen out with his deputy James Nyoro over the running of the county.
This is after Nyoro on Sunday threatened to resign citing frustrations from his boss who he said has sidelined him in making key decisions and managing the devolved unit.
The deputy governor, who is operating without an office and an official car, vowed to fight for the rights of Kiambu residents to ensure they get the services they deserve even after he leaves his job.
"I can work from anywhere but I won't be grounded by being forced to operate from the corridors. He (Waititu) can try all means but Nyoro will not be silenced," he stated, speaking at Sigona Golf Club in Kikuyu.
The working relationship between the two county leaders has been deteriorating fast since they were sworn-in ten months ago.
Last week, Nyoro warned that the situation was getting out of hand and asked Waititu to learn from the broken union between Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and Polycarp Igathe.
"I hope from this, we can learn to respect agreements and avoid thinking that one can have their cake and eat it too. Is food for thought in the neighbouring county? It is just my two cents. Together we stand, divided we fall," the deputy governor posted in a popular WhatsApp group.
