One person has been killed and several others injured with arrows wounds at Ikorongo along Kisii-Transmara boarder following land disputes.
The land disputes between Kisiis and Kipsigs has led to the torching of seven houses and destruction of properties.
According to the residents, they have asked the government through the ministry of security to strengthen security so that they can maintain peace and order since they have not been able to settle as tension is higher.
Askah Bonareri one of the three whose houses were torched said that he has been having sleepless nights since they attacked him and torched his three houses.
Bonareri has called upon the Government to strengthen measures in terms of security without defending any community to help the situation.
“I am calling on the government to strengthen security to calm the situation, for three days we have not taken anything and we are living in fear," said Bonareri.
Nelson Ng’etichi also said that the clashes are only for land disputes but not cattle rustling.
“We have been living with our neighbors in peace when the land surveyors came and showed each of us the boundaries, unfortunately, the clashes began, we call upon the government to end this once and for all,” said Nelson.
Both county commissioners from Narok and Kisii convened a meeting on Monday evening as they called on the residents from both communities to cool down as measures are put in place to solve the disputes.
