Security has been enhanced at Nyamira High Court following intelligence briefs of possible clash between ODM and Jubilee supporters.
County Commissioner Isaiah Naikoru on Tuesday maintained that the security forces were prepared to handle the situation ahead of gubernatorial ruling.
"We have gathered enough intelligence and our officers are ready to handle the situation," he told reporters.
Area Governor John Nyagarama will know the fate of a petition challenging his victory, filed by Jubilee's Walter Nyambati. Presiding Judge James Makau will make the ruling before noon.
Earlier, supporters of either side traded barbs on various social media platforms with each camp convinced of court victory.
"We are ready to deal with those who are ready to cause chaos. Let us all accept the outcome," said Egra Ongo, a supporter of ODM.
On Wednesday morning, the courtroom was already full with rival camps chanting slogans outside the court premises.
Nyambati, a former Kitutu Masaba MP, lost by a slim margin of 6,500 votes to eventual winner, John Nyagarama.
