Learning has been disrupted at St Johns Primary School in Likoni after a gang of thugs broke into the institution on Tuesday night, and made away with property worth thousands of shillings.
Confirming the incident, Likoni deputy police boss Anthony Shimoli said police have arrested one of the suspects, who is aiding them with the investigations.
“We have one suspect in custody who is helping us with investigations. We believe we will nab the others,” said Shimoli, as quoted by Baraka FM.
Reports indicate that a gang of 20 men armed with different weapons broke into the school at around 10pm on Tuesday, and stole eight computers and other electrical gadgets.
Mr Ali Mohammed, the school's chairman, said the thugs overpowered the institution's guards before gaining entry into the compound.
According to the daily, some parents and guardians are already withdrawing their children from the institution as tension mounts.
