Tension is High at Witemere Village in Gilgil Constituency after suspected  Maasai Raiders destroyed more than 50 Houses and injured one person.

The incident forced at least ten families to flee the area for fear of more attacks.

Interviewed residents said that they have been living peacefully  in the area for  twenty years and have been  cultivating Land owned by the Agriculture Development  Corporation ADC.

''Trouble only started 2 weeks ago when the Maasai Community started to demand that those not willing to contribute cash for legal fees to file a suit on the ownership of the Land should leave the area with immediate effect ''said a resident who chose to be anonymous..

''We are wondering how the attackers managed to  destroy all this  houses without police intervening yet they are stationed  just 500 Meters away''added the resident

One person who suffered serious injuries on the Head and Neck is still admitted at the Provincial General Hospital,medics say that he is in a stable condition.

The residents are now  calling for quick Intervention from the President Himself, adding  that they were sitting on a time bomb as the matter could easily generate into clashes.

A spot check today revealed that the less than ten police officers  were patrolling the area.They said that previous peace meetings chaired by Deputy County Commissioner from Gilgil and Naivasha have not solved the problem at all.

Business at the usually busy trading center remained closed  for fear of more attacks making  residents to hold a peaceful demonstration at  Chuma Trading Center condemning this attacks.
