Tension engulfed Nakuru townon Friday after reports emerged that bodies of two businessmen who went missing a week ago were on Wednesday found dumped in a thicket at Kiambu County.
The two bodies were reportedly badly mutilated.
The traders are said to have been kidnapped at gunpoint as they headed home.
Their disappearance sparked protests in the streets as residents demanded police to conduct quick investigations.
Sources claim that business interests might have been the cause of the deaths of the two as they allegedly influenced the relocation of traders from the Nakuru Business District.
Despite the Star newspaper quoting a family member as having confirmed that the two bodies had been recovered, Nakuru police led by their coordinator Hassan Barua said they have no reports on the whereabouts of the two.
Barua said investigations are ongoing.
