This happened few days after a man who had two wives died before declaring which family will own a piece of land he had acquired at Nyamataro along the Kisii-Kisumu highway.

Three family members from the first wife started fencing the piece of land immediately after the burial of their late father as they claimed that the land had been left to them as the five members of the second wife also engaged themselves in a reaction which attracted the attention of villagers into the scene.

After some time of tough arguments between the two families, the administration came in under the area assistant chief William Nyakwara who tried to calm the chaotic families but in vain.

The two families later in the evening engaged in a fresh fight where three of them one from the first family and two from the second family got serious injuries and are currently at the Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital nursing injuries.

The residents are urging the government through the ministry of lands to issue title deeds to avoid land disputes.
