Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker Isaac Terer has cried foul over poor revenue collection by the county.
Terer said that despite the county launching the Revenue Management System (RMS), revenue collection is still very poor.
"We had targeted Sh1 billion in the current financial year, but up to now, only Sh200 million has been collected," he said.
He said even the defunct Municipal Council was able collect enough revenue to run affairs of the region.
"The Municipal Council was collecting Sh1.8 billion yearly and was able to run its businesses smoothly without borrowing," he said.
"There are some few individuals who are looting from the government revenue, I urge the executive to seal all corruption loopholes," he said.
He said if nothing will be done to achieve the one billion revenue collection target, the county will incur heavy debts.
