Three women accused of being part of the foiled terror attack on Mombasa Central police Station were on Thursday rearrested moments after being released.

The three Luul Ali, Nasteho Ali and Zamzam Abdullah who were re-arrested outside Nyali police station where they were expected to meet their families.

Prosecutor Erick Masila did not give the reason for the arrest but said they will be arraigned at the Shanzu law courts on Friday.

The suspects who are former classmates to the attack's mastermind Tasnim Yakubu are said to have been in contact with her moments to the attack.

According to the police, the suspects were linked to the ISIS terror group.

However, principal magistrate Henry Nyakweba ruled that the authorities had failed to link the women to the terror group.
