Moi University Acting Vice Chancellor Prof Laban Ayiro has urged institutions of higher learning to embrace e-learning.

He said this will help reduce congestion that has been experienced in both private and public universities.

"It is sad that some institutions have many students straining physical facilities but with e-learning one can study at home," he said in Eldoret town, Wednesday.

"It also enhances more access to education with greater convenience and also help our country achieve Vision 2030," he added.

He called upon the national government through the Ministry of Education to ensure they only license institutions that are registered.

"It's sad that some colleges are operating yet they have not been registered leading to wastage of funds since their courses are not registered," noted Prof Ayiro.

He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that Moi University is a better place for students to study.

"Under my leadership I will revolutionize the institution to not only be the best in Kenya but globally,” he added.
