Garissa County Commissioner James Kianda has lauded residents for maintaining law and order during the general election on Tuesday.

Kianda says that there was no major security incidents reported and that locals conducted themselves in a peaceful manner.

He urged residents to remain peaceful and calm even as results for Tuesday general election are being announced by the IEBC.

“I am happy to report that there were no security concerns reported on before, during and after the poling day on Tuesday and equally wants to thank residents for keeping law and order,” Kianda said as quoted by the star.

The Garissa County commissioner said that police will continue to be vigilant to ensure local’s safety.

Kianda at the same time appealed to local politicians to accept the choice locals made in Tuesday polls.

He said that the choices residents made are final and that losers in the election should accept results or seek court intervention if they feel dissatisfied.
