Central Organisation of Trade Unions (Cotu) secretary general Francis Atwoli has slammed president Uhuru Kenyatta, saying he should stop fighting with his juniours.

Citing tribulations facing Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho, he said Uhuru is making Joho famous, and should stop.

According to Atwoli, Joho has risen to political popularity, due to Uhuru's attacks on him.

He said the ODM deputy party leader could now vie for any elective seat in Nairobi, and beat his rivals, squarely.

"Joho is now the talk of town. President Uhuru Kenyatta has risen his political career and popularity. Joho can now come vie in Nairobi and beat Kidero, Sonko anyone else, because he is loved. People love him,'' he said.

Speaking on JKL show, Atwoli said Uhuru was bringing himself down by fighting with juniours, unlike his predecessors.

"You remember Kibaki? He never used to answer anybody. You'd talk and talk and talk, but he'll just say 'let them talk, they'll keep quiet'. And that what was happening. Moi also never to engage in public fights with his juniours. Uhuru should stop degrading himself,'' Atwoli said, Wednesday.
