Newly elected members of parliament are headed to Mombasa County for a three-day seminar which is aimed at familiarising the MPs with the matters of parliament, their roles in the society, the procedures for preparation of the budget and how to relate well with other arms of government.

This seminar comes seven months after the swearing in of the MPs and the official inauguration by the president.

The forum will also be used to unite Members of Parliament both from different political coalitions.

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has urged the lawmakers to attend the seminar which will kick off on Monday 4th March to Thursday noting that it is crucial for them.

"I wish to encourage all members to take time and attend the seminar as it will be crucial for them to apprise themselves with the trends within the Commonwealth jurisdictions," said Muturi.

Guest speakers expected to facilitate the seminar are ;The speaker to the National Assembly of Zambia justice Patrick Matibini, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Karimulla Khan among others.
