Education CS Fred Matiang'i has said the 2016 KCSE exam results had no irregularities.
Matiang'i said Thursday that for the first time in Kenyan history, the secondary school exams were perfectly conducted and no student was affected.
In 2015, over 5,000 students missed their results due to irregularities.
"These results demonstrate the huge strides we have taken in reforming the country's education sector.... This is the only way we can raise a generation of people who are credible, ready and able to serve their country," the minister said.
Releasing the outcome at Shimo la Tewa High in Mombasa, the CS said parents and education stakeholders should be certain that the grades scored by candidates are clean and out of their own effort.
"There are schools that produced 196 straight As last year, they couldn't actually produce 15 this year. We have managed to be responsible and produce credible results this year," said Matiang'i.
Only 88,929 candidates managed to score C+ and above in this year's KCSE results.
