Despite the delay in the announcement of the presidential results, gubernatorial, senate and MP candidate have known their fate.

With more than 95 per cent of the results having been tallied, several key politicians have faced the wrath of the electorate.

Among them are Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba, Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and Meru Governor Peter Munya.

Ruto, a National Super Alliance principal and Chama Cha Mashinani leader lost to Joyce Laboso, while Khalwale lost to Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

Namwamba, the Labour Party of Kenya leader, lost to Raphael Wanjala.

Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar, who was gunning for the governorship lost to incumbent Hassan Joho.

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, who has since conceded defeat, was beaten by a big margin by Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu. Waititu garnered 738,735 votes against Kabogo’s 198,655, as at 7pm yesterday.

Meru governor Peter Munya has lost to Senator Kiraitu Murungi. The PNU leader however disputed the results.

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, according to the provisional results, has beaten Governor Kidero.

Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma, in another fierce battle, lost to Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o.

Veteran politician and Rongo MP Dalmas Otieno has lost his seat to businessman Paul Abuor.
