Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya has expressed confidence that he will beat the county’s senator Bonny Khalwale in the Kakamega gubernatorial race in the August 8 polls.

While addressing residents in Kakamega over the weekend, Oparanya who is also the ODM deputy party leader said his rival was only good at bull fighting and not governing the county.

“Allow me to ask you my brothers and sisters, someone who we all know for talking to cows and making them fight all over, do you believe he can govern this county of ours? Have you ever seen a governor carried shoulder high just because his bull has won a fight? Have you ever seen me being carried on someone’s shoulder?” Oparanya asked Kakamega residents.

Khalwale is seeking to unseat the county boss on a Ford-Kenya party ticket. He has accused the incumbent of overseeing corruption in the county.
