Kisii County residents have been warned against politicising development projects and programmes initiated by the County Government; instead they should own such projects for their benefit.
Kisii Senator Chris Obure has warned area residents to stop politicising every project initiated by the County Government, since doing so sent wrong signals to County administration which he said was mandated to initiate development projects meant to transform lives of their residents.
Speaking at Nyamasankwa village,Bobasi Chache Ward in Sameta sub-county during the burial of Johnstone Miyoge, the senator singled out a county road linking four constituencies of Nyaribari, Bobasi, Bomachoge Chache and South Mugirango, starting from Menyinkwa market to Nyamarambe in South Mugirango as one of the major road project identified for construction by the Kisii County Government this financial and had already been allocated funds.
Obure was responding to questions from members of the public who wanted to know the fate of the road which they said had been earmarked for construction this financial year, but the contractor was yet to move to the site raising eyebrows among members of the public.
"I am making it public that, the road from Menyinkwa to Nyamarambe in South Mugirango is in the pipeline and has already been tendered forand allocated funds by the County Government. Its construction will start soon immediately the current rains subside," disclosed Obure.
