The two, Nicholas Biwott and Robert Ouko, would later fall out after the 1990 January 29 trip and the former would be implicated of the latter's murder, two weeks later.

"Since it was not considered an official trip, Moi was unable to get a private audience with President George Herbert Bush . Ouko led a press conference and even got audience with the president," reads the report.

In the report, Scotland Yard that investigated Ouko's murder, stated that Ouko met Bush without the knowledge of Kenyan delegation, a reason why Biwott was agitated.

"The meeting apparently caused a great rift between Ouko and Biwott  with Biwott sarcastically referring him as Mr. President. They even exchanged blows," with another witness saying the incident turned ugly.

Multiple sources intimated to Gor Sunguh lead inquiry that Ouko was murdered at Nakuru State House in Biwott's presence even though the latter was not charged until his death in 2017.
