The soft-spoken Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana left a crowd in stitches during a Kamba leadership meeting at Koma in Machakos County recently.
When Kibwana stood to speak, no one saw the hilarious moment coming as he began in rather boring manner.
Since the meeting was about endorsing Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, every leader who stood to speak had to give praises to Kalonzo. Others went into the depth of castigating Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua for not only missing the event but also vying for the presidency against Kalonzo.
Kibwana said, "In a goat shed, he-goats mount female ones in order to increase the flock which is good. The kids see what the goats are doing and also try to mount females, these kids are not stopped but allowed to go on despite the fact that they can't amount to anything," Kibwana said.
In one way or another, the saying hit Governor Mutua below the belt.
It likened him to a kid trying to emulate what 'he-goats' do. In this case, seasonal politicians from the Ukambani region like Kalonzo and the rest.
Kibwana, however, said the Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader should be allowed to proceed with his presidential bid in 2022 despite the fact that he cannot beat Kalonzo in the polls.
The statement left the crowd rolling on the floor, more so, after realizing who was being described.
What amazed the crowd was the fact that Professor Kibwana didn't even grin while making the joke.
