Former Vice President Musalia Mudavadi on Sunday vividly narrated how he escaped death narrowly when he campaigned in Busia ahead of 2013 elections.
The NASA Chief Agent had parted ways with Raila Odinga, after working closely with the former Prime Minister for seven years.
Considered an opposition stronghold, Mudavadi was forced to flee due to resistance from locals who had labeled him a traitor.
“I fear Busia people because sometimes back you literally chased me away from this town. I wonder why you allow them to campaign here,” he said, in reference to Jubilee’s campaigns to the region.
He added:”I want you to be vigilant and show them that this is a NASA stronghold. They should go home like yesterday.”
Interestingly, after five years in separate political vehicles, Mudavadi and Odinga have yet against merged against the government and are leading intensive campaigns across the country.
The ANC party leader is Odinga’s Chief Agent and is currently in charge of campaigns ahead of October elections.
