For almost one hour, former Senate Minority Leader Moses Wetangula pleaded with NASA senators to forgive him but all in vain, a source has revealed.

At a meeting on Thursday in Nairobi, Wetangula is said to have asked his colleagues to rescind their decision to sack him, only his prayers to fall on deaf ears.

"He asked senators to forgive him if he ever handled them badly during his tenure. He apologised throughout his speech," said a source, who spoke in confidence.

Some of the issues that NASA senators accused Wetangula before his removal include arrogance, non caring attitude and missing Raila Odinga's swearing-in.

Vocal senators led by James Orengo (Siaya), Ledama Ole Kina (Narok) and Judith Pareno, are said to have openly confronted NASA principals for 'defending Wetangula.

"They accused Raila of defending his colleagues even after betraying them. I do not see them rescinding their decision," added the source.

After the meeting, Raila said all NASA senators would go for a retreat before making final report on Wetangula's fate.

Even though he is yet to assume roles as Senate Minority Leader, Orengo remains technically as the duly elected member.
