The meeting between the two rekindled memories of February 22, 2017 when Oloo openly admitted to having been used by Raila to spy on the ruling Jubilee administration. He said he would leak Jubilee's political secrets and plans to the former PM.

He claimed then that one of the secrets he managed to leak to Raila is that "Jubilee strongholds had multiple registered voters who would be used to inflate the ruling party's numbers to defeat Raila at the ballot".

Oloo will be remembered as having been among the few men from Luo Nyanza who closely worked with Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto at a time Raila needed him more than anyone else.

The only other man from Luo Nyanza who worked within Uhuru's inner political circles is Jubilee's Secretary General Raphael Tuju.

The Kisumu Speaker, who by that time was in TNA could not freely visit his backyard because of his close association with Raila's political rivals (Uhuru and Ruto). Now, he is a man free to mingle with opposition supporters throughout the country having mended fences with the opposition chief.

He contested for the Kisumu Central MP seat during the August 8 general polls but lost to incumbent Fred Ouda.

Oloo, after the loss sailed through during the Kisumu County Assembly elections for the post of Speaker to lead debates in the Assembly.
