Following the nullification of the August 11, 2017, general elections, an angry Uhuru could not hold it anymore and even went ahead to call the judges 'wakora' (crooks).
When addressing a crowd in Burma Market, Nairobi in September, the president attacked chief Justice David Maraga and his team of judges questioning the procedure used to nullify his victory.
"Maraga na hao watu wake wakora wamesema basi uchaguzi ipotee?" (Hasn't Maraga and his team of crooks decided to nullify the elections) questioned an angry Uhuru.
Uhuru who had emerged victorious in the presidential elections as declared by the IEBC could not understand how a bench of six justice would nullify the whole elections after Kenyans queued for hours to vote. He, however, had agreed to respect the ruling of the court even if he disagreed with it.
On this day, Uhuru also vowed to deal with the judiciary if he would be re-elected as the president after the 60 days issued by the Maraga led team.
"Maraga should know that he is now dealing with the sitting president" added Uhuru.
His remarks, however, did not go very well him and elicited various reactions from Kenyans and even the Law Society of Kenya which was fast to respond in defence of their judges.
President Uhuru's victory had been nullified after the National Super Alliance Party (NASA) led by its presidential candidate Raila Odinga filed a petition challenging Uhuru's victory in the 2017 presidential elections.
