Known for his charisma and enthusiasm in electrifying political rallies, Raila Odinga has also a fair of challenges in the field that has accommodated him for over four decades.

In fact, pundits claim that it is only Raila who can attract huge crowds of people without necessarily paying them to attend.

Forget about his funny moments on stage and the Kwale incident where an old man whipped him for unclear reasons, Raila may not forget what transpired in a sunny afternoon at Keroka.

With few days to much anticipated 2007 elections, Raila had visited Keroka, days after President Mwai Kibaki had held a similar rally.

And the stiff opposition orchestrated by the then minister Sam Ongeri and Simon Nyachae, saw Raila face wrath from a section of youths who accused him of divisive politics.

While addressing the people,  unidentified youths hit Raila with pair of shoes before disappearing to thin airs.

For few hours, the rally was temporarily interrupted as ODM supporters pursued the suspected PNU supporters.

Later Raila proceeded with his speech and condemned Nyachae, who would later lose his parliamentary seat to little known Robert Monda in the polls.
