All this came about when Mike Sonko the now Nairobi county boss opened up about his daughter Saumu Mbuvi giving birth to a bouncing baby girl, Sasha.
Sonko cleared the air stating he had no bad-blood with his son-in-law and that the rumors were a creation of bloggers.
Speaking with tears in his eyes, the Nairobi senator said he loves his first-born daughter and her child to death.
On the issue of Saumu breaking up with her man a week before birth, Sonko said it was not unusual.
"These things happen, even Uhuru Kenyatta's daughter will be impregnated soon," Sonko told reporters.
He also reminded his interviewers that he got his daughter, Saumu when he was in form three and still went to become one of the most celebrated Kenyan politicians.
Sonko said in case the young lawyer Ben Gatu reaches out to him for forgiveness after hurting his daughter, he will forgive him.
"I know people make mistakes have made mistakes in the past so I know. I will forgive him," Sonko said.
The Saumu Mbuvi pregnancy was the trend of the day then, with different versions of stories being written by bloggers.
