In 2016, former Lugari Member of Parliament and presidential aspirant Cyrus Jirongo divulged details of how President Uhuru Kenyatta is highly skilled in dairy farming, especially milking cows.
Speaking during an interview on the Jeff Koinage show last year, the former KANU youth wing chairman narrated a tale of President Kenyatta’s love for dairy farming, which was evident when he visited him at his Kitale home during a past political campaign in the region.“During the campaigns, we spent a night in Kitale in my house. We stayed up late. He woke up very early the next morning and loaded milk onto the farm pickup. Uhuru was in my boma milking cows, something I have forgotten how to do myself, while I was still asleep. Uhuru is a highly social and extremely likeable person” stated Mr Jirongo as he went on to shower praises on Kenyatta’s person and character. The Head of State is known to be an avid investor in dairy farming with multiple reports indicating that he has the biggest stake at Brookside diaries, the largest milk processor and packager in Kenya.Jirongo and Kenyatta worked together in a bid to secure former President Moi’s re-election in 1997.#historynow
