Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has dismisssed claims that he sometimes goes too far in giving directives and that most of his actions are unconstitutional.
According to Nkaissery, the criticism is not true saying that he only follows the rules that he extracts from the Constitution to perform his duties.
Speaking at Kitengela Police Station, Mr Nkaissery said he is only trying to enforce the law that is laid down and that those criticizing him are the ones who break the law and want to walk scott-free.
"I don't arrest you, the law does," Nkaissery said.
He further fired a warning shot to all politicians who propagate hate speech that the police will not spare them.
To him, the incident where eight legislators were recently locked up in police cells is just the beginning of government efforts to fight hate mongers.
General Nkaissery said that the only way to avoid confrontation with the police officers is to do the right things always.
