All roads could be leading to Kisumu city on the 13th February for Black Panther, the next film in Marvel cinematic universe, premiere.

Speaking to Hot96 radio on Tuesday morning, Achieng Alai Ojany, Kisumu county executive for Tourism, Sports and Culture, said that they are waiting for permission from Imax to air the movie premier on 13th.

“The deal is we are waiting on Imax to let us know whether Kisumu actually has the permission to air the premier on the 13th. It has been a couple of days since we last spoke so we are not ready to shop that off until they get their okay from the Hollywood producer,” said Achieng.

Achieng promised that the county would make the premier an amazing event to celebrate African splendor if Kisumu is given the go ahead to host the movie.

“If we get the go-ahead Kisumu will be the first City to air the and that is going to be on 13th, potentially two showings; one at seven and another one at ten. We want to make it an amazing event so that everyone should celebrate African splendor," the county executive stated.

The tourism and culture boss did not, however,  disclose whether Kenyan born award winning actress Lupita Nyong'o  who is also part of the cast will be at the premier.

Previous reports had hinted that Lupita could attend the premier.
