The hyena sculpture worth at least Ksh 700,000 per piece was among other five sculptures stolen from Tim’s home five years ago. According to Tim, the sculptures were his personal pieces that he would have loved to keep and give to his children. Tim was so amazed and further claims that he had long lost hopes of ever seeing the lost sculpture again.

“Thank you very much to the FBI and the Kenya Police. I am so happy, it’s just fantastic, I never thought I would see that sculpture again, ever. They are my personal pieces that I wanted to keep to give to my children.”

Jake Archer, an FBI special agent claims that recovering and returning the stolen art to the rightful country brings about a great day for both nations involved.

The FBI art crimes team took on the search once they had received information that the stolen sculpture was in the United States. They have since then recovered more than fifteen thousand items of value worth over fifty billion shillings.
