Childhood is full of fun and energy. It is also here where one enjoys absolute love and care from parents or guardians.
However, this does not make it perfect as it is also at this stage of life that one is completely clueless and vulnerable to lies and as a result the people near result to lies whenever the questions just cant stop coming.
At times the questions are too sensitive or uncomfortable to answer forcing the recipients to look for alternatives answers which on most occasions are partly untrue or complete lies, while at times they just don't want to be honest..
Here are some lies we were told when growing up.
Children are bought
Mothers usually have a hard time elaborating to their children the process of child formation probably because the process is a bit hard and uncomfortable to tell to a kid.Our mothers too had the same challenge when we were still still little and we were always told that babies are bought in shops whenever curiosity came in.
God lives in the clouds
We were always made to believe that the supreme being lives somewhere above the clouds and we believed it because on many occasions we saw people, including our parents themselves ,facing up when praying. We were still too young to understand the real situation.
By now however,we understand that God is everywhere even though He is higher than us.
Jim Caviezel is the real Jesus
Jim Caviezel, the man who plays the role of Jesus of Nazareth in the renown movie 'Passion of Christ' portraying the actual life of Jesus on earth, his crucifixion and death was made to be the real son of God to us.
It only dawned to some of us that he was just an actor and the movie was just an imitation based on the bible when we grew older.
Most children still fall for this trick though.
Every strange man was uncle
We were made to believe that every man who is not your father or a relative is your uncle while all the women were aunties and whenever a man came around we were told to greet uncle. This was maybe our parents thought we had very little memory to remind the names and faces of all these people or just to ensure that we never called our seniors by their names.
We were even forced to call our house helps 'aunty' as a honorable tittle.
Money is made by life prisoners
We were made to believe that money is made by Kenyan prisoners who are in for the remaining days of their life in some of our maximum security correctional facilities.Further inquiries on the reason for the same would result to the answer; ''So that even if they steal it they have nowhere to take it and nothing to do with it,''
However, deeper research reveals that there are firms tendered to do that.
