It was quite re-assuring to Cord supporters recently when immediately the Kisii leaders who had led a delegation of 87 MCAs to State House Nairobi to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, dashed to the Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) Headquarters at Orange House to dispel any rumours that they were about to quit the opposition coalition.

Addressing a media conference at Orange House Kisii County Majority Leader Moindi Protus, and his Nyamira counterpart,Mr.Daniel Masira reiterated that their loyalty to ODM had not changed and was not about to do so.

They further emphasised that the Omogusii Nation was categorical in their unwavering support to Cord and more specifically the Cord supremo Hon. Raila Odinga.

Thursday's meeting came barely a week after Kisii Senator Chris Obure also led a delegation to State House which sparked speculation that most Kisii leaders who about to defect to the ruling party, more so given the fact that Chris Obure was a key pillar for ODM and by extension Cord who as of late been seen to be gravitating towards Jubilee but he has insisted that his visit to the house on the hill was purely for development purposes, more so infrastructure which his county has been lagging behind.

MCAs, are believed to be very influential in their counties and therefore any political leader worth his salt will employ all tricks in the book to woo them in his hunt for votes.

The president promised the leaders that he will be visiting their county in the course of this month and will make sure that their grievances are addressed as soon as possible.

In spite, of all these efforts to woo them, the Kisii leaders across the board have pledged their loyalty to ODM and even staged a major demonstration earlier this week to confirm their dedication to their sponsoring party and this affirms a cause for celebration for Cord supporters countrywide.

A former Kisii mayor, Samuel Omwando also emphasized that they are firmly in Cord while Timothy Bosire who currently doubles up as the ODM national treasurer and a key Cord point in in Gusii politics while addressing a media conference and the party Headquarters assured the public that they had nothing to worry about since the delegation that went to State House and sort permission from the Cord big wigs and by extension party leader, Raila Odinga who granted them a go head since there was nothing fishy about their widely covered visit which was solely for the Omogusii development and that it had nothing to do with Jubilee politics.
