There are three arms of the government in Kenya; The Judiciary, the Executive and the Legislature. The Judiciary arm of the government of Kenya today is however, becoming vestigial following the latest disobediences weaponed against the court orders to the government.
The courts have been declared nonfunctional and for this case almost useless with regards to its orders that have been disrespected by the national government under the leadership of H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta in the latest cases.
Among the latest cases of disobedience to the courts is when the courts ordered the government to switch on TV signals after media houses were shut down for days when NASA leader Raila Odinga was being sworn in at Uhuru Park. The Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang'i responded to the court orders saying that the TV signals would not not be reinstated until investigation into National Resistance Movement (NRM) activities were concluded.
Another instance was when the government responded to the courts after declaring that Miguna Miguna's deportation was illegal maintaining that the deportation was procedural and lawful. In the most recent case, Miguna Miguna has been denied chance to get into the country after he was deported to Canada even though the courts declared that he is a Kenyan citizen.
To sum up everything, the disobedience to the court shouldn't be a surprise to Kenyans who heard President Uhuru Kenyatta vow to deal with the courts accordingly should he win the subsequent elections that were slated for 26 October 2017 (in which he won) after the same courts nullified his win in the August 8 the general elections. This is what sparked anger of president Kenyatta against the courts.
