Kisii county Sauti ya Wajane have come out presenting their grievances by saying that they have been discriminated for a long time in the society.

Speaking to the press on Tuesday they said that they have been discriminated for a long time but now it is their time to speak out.

Led by their chairperson Margret Obiria they said that both the national and county government have been discriminating them during the distribution of bursaries.

“The national and county government has been discriminating us during the distribution of bursaries now we appeal that we also need help like any other citizens of this nation,” said Obiria.

They also said that they would like stakeholders to help them solve the matters in their families since most of them get disowned by the members once their husband has died.

“Most of us face many challenges from the families since they don't recognise us once our husbands pass on and they don’t even give us the land title deeds, we need an help from the government,” added Obiria.

In addition, they accused the administration of not assisting them once they have presented their grievances.

“We appeal to the administration to help us in solving this issues which are affecting us,” said Obiria.
