Garissa township legislator, Aden Duale carved out his unique niche in firebrand politics by occasionally criticising Raila Odinga’s every single move.
Today, the Garissa Township legislator is the senior-most personality in the National Assembly who has an express line to the highly guarded State House.
Inside and outside the eleventh house, Duale is loved and hated in equal proportions. His undivided devotion and enthusiastic defence of the ruling Jubilee coalition in the House has clearly endeared him to President Kenyatta and his Deputy, but equally brushing him off with Cord MPs.
Discovering that he is hated across the other extreme end of the board, Duale has opted to defend himself, airing out that among his many duties is to push Government agenda in the legislative House.
“Any Jubilee agenda brought before the House to date has sailed through. It is my work and I am proud,” he was once quoted by the media.
And he harbours several choice epithets for Raila, whom he says planned for his own downfall with his own hands, Duale says the opposition chief knows he will never win elections as he lost it the moment he broke ties with Ruto.
“I just knew Raila Odinga had lost the presidential elections the very moment he lost the Ruto-led team,” said Duale.
Even with the bile still flowing, Duale still describes the former prime minister as an astute politician who has witnessed a larger part of history-making processes in the country.
