What are the ingredients for the national dialogue?
1. We must never forget- Let's not forget the 1992 tribal clashes in Rift Valley and Coastal Region. Let's not forget the 2007-2008 post-election mayhem. Let's not forget the Rwandan genocide. Let's not forget whatever is happening in South Sudan.
2. Our loyalty- Our loyalty must be to Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace and to our nation Kenya. Our loyalty should transcend the tribal chiefs and our political parties.
3. Peaceful means for peaceful ends-A political order shouldn't be a bloody affair. Destructive means cannot bring constructive ends. Remember means represent the seed and the end represents the tree. We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means.
4. Human life is sacred- We usually say 'Thou Shall not Kill' and this means human life is too sacred to be taken on the battlefields. Everyone is a neighbor, regardless of their tribes, social strata, and political affiliations.
5. National dialogue must be founded on Agape- Agape is an overflowing love that seeks nothing in return. National dialogue would only be meaningful and fruitful if we put the interest of the entire country at heart.
