This was when he was attending the burial of Shinyalu MP Justus Kizito's mother when he revealed that he is planning to take over the government in 2022.

In an expression of opinion, the two leaders are 'beating' their math wisely in a bid to completely erase the rivalry between them following claims that elections were rigged. The plan is meant to let Odinga family enjoy presidency after the Kenyatta family and let it pass on to 'sons of peasants or rather the younger candidates.

Seemingly, President Uhuru Kenyatta saw it wise to pave way for Raila to take over the government before he ages and leave the field for the young contestants mainly DP William Ruto and Gideon Moi since Ruto or Moi becoming president before Raila is 'shame'.

All president Kenyatta is now left with is to persuade DP Ruto to move a step back to let Odinga get to State House and later take over after him(Odinga) despite the promise Kenyatta made to him.

This would be better should Odinga pledge support for him thereafter in the subsequent elections.

DP Ruto should also think of playing his cards safely. Letting in Raila come 2022 and later seek his support is the best choice for him as this will see him gain support from Nyanza.

In conclusion, president Kenyatta is pushing for equality between the two of them to aid their ties after retire as without this, Odinga will go down in memory as a 'failure' with pain in his heart if he actually never won the elections or if he won but denied victory.

The two will remain in true and clear ties only when Odinga tastes presidency according to this opinion piece.
