High Court Judge Lucy Gitaru dismissed the case on grounds that it lacked merit.

Justice Gitaru ordered Karua to pay costs amounting to Sh5 million. This is the second time that the High Court is dismissing Karua's petition against Waiguru.

She first moved to court in September 2017, but her case was dismissed in November on grounds that it lacked merit.

Karua, however, moved to the Court of Appeal where she argued that the High Court erred in throwing out her case.

A three-judge bench of the court heard her case and ruled in her favor ordering that the fresh hearing on her petition be done.

Following the ruling, Governor Waiguru is expected to complete serving her full term unless the former MP decides to appeal the case again.
