The National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga stands no chance of winning next month poll ordered by the Supreme Court, President Uhuru Kenyatta has said.
According to the President, Raila has failed to clinch the country’s top seat in his previous attempts because of his brand of politics that agitates for the ethnic division.
‘Raila Odinga thrives in the tribal division. The only thing he has done is to agitate against different communities and that is why voters had shown their displeasure by rejecting him at every election,” said Uhuru on Tuesday.
The Head of State was speaking at the State House when he received a delegation of Western Kenya leaders who have endorsed his re-election.
The politicians were led by Water CS Eugene Wamalwa, Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka and chief whip Benjamin Washiali.
The Jubilee Party leader welcomed the support from the Luhya leaders, saying it signified ruling coalition's popularity across the country.
“This is the party where every Kenyan is welcome and feels at home. We have campaigned all these years, but we never incited communities,” Uhuru added.
