Chris Bichage became the shortest serving Member of parliament in the Kenyan history after only serving for three months.

The then Nyaribari Chache Legislator, had been declared a winner in the March 4, 2013 General elections only for the High court's Judge,Edward Muriithi  to nullified his victory after being found to have committed some elections offences.

In a by-election that was held on December 30,2014, Bichage lost to Richard Tong'i a FORD People candidate who garnered 10,100 votes against his 9,712 votes.

Mr Tong'i then 40, and a former Wiper candidate had been locked out of the race after CORD coalition wanted to support one candidate during the by- election.

Others in the race were Robert Monda of The National Alliance(TNA) party who came third with 9,286 votes followed by Benson Mogaka of the Kenya Social Congress (KSC) with 1,021 votes.

In the fifth position was James Kenani of the National Labour Party (NLP) with 823 votes followed by John Omanga of KANU who garnered 501 votes.

While at the seventh position was Narc Kenya’s Rael Otundo with 375 votes, followed by Jared Matundura of Kenya National Congress (KNC) with 75 votes and lastly Douglas Marwa of The National Vision Party (NVP) with 29 votes.

Disappointed was Mr Bichage that he never even showed up at Keumbu Social Hall, Constituency talling centre.

He was however represent by the then MPs Simon Ogari(Bomachoge Chache), Richard Onyonka (Kistutu Chache South), Mary Otara(Kisii), Alice Chae (Nyamira), Dennitah Ghati(Migori) and ODM executive director Magerer Langat who accepted defeat on behalf.
