A Mudavadi - Kalonzo Presidential ticket is the only sure way Opposition NASA can unseat the Jubilee government, analyst Daudi Mwenda has postulated.
In an opinion editorial published with the Star Newspaper, Mwenda argued that a Mudavadi - Kalonzo ticket could create political excitement around the country, adding that the two Opposition leaders will, however, require the full backing of Opposition chief Raila Odinga to beat Jubilee convincingly.
"A Mudavadi-Kalonzo ticket creates a lot of excitement and a nightmare for Jubilee. It is the one team that can force Jubilee into a second round election," he said.
"However, it can only work with the complete and absolute support of Raila," he added.
He further warned that the visible infighting within the coalition threatens the unity of the outfit, adding that Jubilee would be the biggest gainers in the event of a fallout.
"There are clear signs of serious infighting withinNASA, despite public attempts to portray aunited front. Unless the issue of the presidentialflagbearer is swiftly settled, NASA may implode. It will take a miracle or an enormous amount of personal sacrifice to keep the coalition together," he stated.
The coalition partners have since ruled out a possibility of any fallout, with the principals exuding confidence that the alliance will stand the test of time.
